Port Alice Day two (Marble River Trail)

A leisurely wake up and breakfast before we headed out at 10 to Marble River Provincial Park.  There is a 9-ish km trail and today was forecast to be nice and sunny.  But first a stop at Alice Lake.

Then onto Marble River.  Spoiler alert, we did not see any bears.  We wanted to see one, just not up close.

No closed sign is going to stop us from our hike!

Bears are everywhere!  Except where we were.

There were great swaths of blown down trees.

This is the first of many pictures of mushrooms.

mushroom clusters!

Bear Falls. Notice the lack of bears

Emerald Pools, the end of the trail

Squirrel!!

Stellar Jays just as we arrived home

Almost 25000 steps on my fitbit.  The trail is pretty good but there were definitely some muddy bits and some up and down climby bits.  We completely lucked out with the weather.  And we never saw one person on the trail, although we know there was someone with a dog around because we saw the foot and paw prints in the mud.

Early to bed tonight.
